Kherson Oblast: a delegation of the Voivodship Commandant's Office of the State Fire Department in Krakow (Republic of Poland) is staing in the Region within the framework of the Ukrainian-Polish project "Increasing the Efficiency of Ukrainian Emergency Services Response to Crises Situations".

From the 2 to 7 of September a delegation of Polish rescuers is staing in Oblast within the framework of the third stage of the Ukrainian-Polish project "Increasing the Efficiency of Ukrainian Emergency Services Response to Crises Situations". Partnerships between firefighters-rescuers of Kherson oblast and Malopolsk Voivodeship have been maintained since 2010, when the first joint project took place and the first batch of humanitarian aid within the framework of the "Polish Aid for Development " programme was transfer to the Kherson Rescuers.
In 2016, the cooperation continued in the form of a new project entitled "Increasing the Efficiency of Ukrainian Emergency Services Response to Crises Situations". During 2016-2019, 9 training modules for Kherson rescuers were held in Krakow and the Malopolsk Voivodeship during the first and second stages of this project. Also, humanitarian aid from Polish partners for a total amount of more than 300 thousand zlotys from the funds of "Polish Aid for Development" programme was transferred twice.
Considering the measures taken, on September 3, the Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Yuri Gusev, met with the Polish delegation of the Voivodship Commandant's Office of the State Fire Department in Krakow.
During the meeting, the problems in the field of fire protection have been analyzed, the region’s primary needs in fire-fighting and rescue equipment, which in 2020 will be provided in the form of humanitarian assistance for the Kherson fire departments, have been processed.
Also, in order to familiarize, the delegation of rescuers visited the regional structural units of the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Kherson Oblast, village council and local fire protection service in Chaplynsk district. Kherson rescuers demonstrated for Polish colleagues practical training on eliminating of the fire at the Brigantine Hotel.
