A meeting with the Executive Director of the United States Fire Mission was held in Kherson oblast

On May 6, the Executive Director of the United States Fire Mission David Moore and the Project Coordinator in Eastern Europe, the representative of the US Forest Service Petro Pavlychenko arrived to the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Kherson oblast with a three-day visit in the framework of the International Cooperation.

The aim of reception is the development of long-term relations with the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Kherson oblast in order to increase the level of fire safety and assistance in providing the reforms of operational rescue service of civil protection.

The acquaintance of guests with the leadership of the Main Department took place on the first day. During a conversation accompanied by the photo-presentation the Head of regional rescue department the Colonel of civil protection service Serhii Chornyi told about the main problems faced by rescuers in the elimination f fires in ecosystems of the region, in rural settlements located on a long distance from the places of main deployment of fire and rescue units, and during the people rescue on the water.

The particular attention of American missionaries has attracted the problem of fire protection of man-made forests of Kherson oblast.

Moreover, on this day, an excursion was held to the 20th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Kherson City and the Emergency and Rescue Special Purpose Unit.

Onwards - a meeting with the Deputy Head of Kherson Regional State Administration, visiting of fire and rescue units of Oleshky and Hola Prystan districts, conducting classes on the peculiarities of the combat use of fire-fighting equipment delivered as humanitarian aid; sharing of practical experience of fire extinguishing in US ecosystems.
