Parliament of Ukraine ratified the agreement on purchase 55 French helicopters
Parliament of Ukraine ratified the Agreement between Ukraine and France on official support in the creation of a unified system of aviation safety and civil protection.
For the proposed law № 0189 voted 227 deputies.
The agreement on official support for the creation of a single system of aviation security and civil protection were signed between the Governments of Ukraine and France on May 29 in Paris.
The document was signed by Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov on behalf of the Government of Ukraine and Delphin Zheni-Stefan, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France.
The interior minister noted that the contract value between France and Ukraine is 555 million euros. These funds will be received by Ukraine through a special borrowing at 4.25% per annum from the State Treasury of France and a consortium of French banks.
"We will receive a whole pool of helicopters for a very good price in three and a half years, which will provide a new system of security of the country," Arsen Avakov emphasized.
The minister stressed that new helicopters will help solve the issue of sanitary aviation, will evacuate people in the mountains, during fires and floods. In addition, special 10-ton helicopters will be used to extinguish fires.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksiy Takhtay noted that the purpose of this project is to create one of the best security services and operational assistance for the population.
"Among the main tasks of the new unified aviation security and civil protection system: rescue and public order, criminal investigations, antiterrorist and special missions, state border guard, road safety. Under the terms of the contract, Ukraine will receive 55 helicopters of models H225, H145, H125 ", - said Alex Takhtai.
H225 (21 units) - two-engined helicopter of the middle class, with the highest in the industry characteristics of speed, range, loading and reliability. Developed on the basis of proven technological solutions and experience of operation around the world.
Model H125 (24 units). It is a lightweight single-engine helicopter that surpasses all other helicopters of this class in terms of performance and versatility. The model does not require a significant level of service. Demonstrates high performance in high altitude and extreme environments. This helicopter will be used by our border guards for operational cover of the border and air patrols.
Model H145 (10 units). This is a new model among light two-engined helicopters. It is determined by high operational readiness in various conditions.
He stressed that the experts flying of all the agencies of the system chose the products of manufacturers of helicopters Airbus Helicopters, primarily on the "price-quality" criterion. Each Helicopter will be equipped in accordance with the requirements and needs of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that, in addition to helicopters, on the basis of the established state service center, Ukraine will receive technical support - service, instructors and technicians. As well as education: training crews and instructors who will continue to train the staff themselves.
