An International Conference «Science and peace. Approved solution of problems of global conflicts and violence» took place in Kyiv City

On June 14–15, at the initiative of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace an International Conference «Science and peace. Approved solution of problems of global conflicts and violence» took place in Kyiv City.

The leading governmental, military, scientific and educational leaders from the whole world took part in the conference.

Head of the Centre of psychological support of the units Operative Rescue Service of Civil Defence of the SESU Anatolii Sychevskyi took part in the event on behalf of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

During conference the participants discussed about the innovations in education, developments of national security and global peace, as well as the current global crisis of safety and the key role that scientific society can play in coping with these threats.

Moreover, all the participants had an opportunity to learn from Ukrainian experience in organization and providing of psychological protection of the population.

In particular, during his report Anatolii Sychevskyi said that the organization and providing of psychological protection of the population are authorized on a central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of civil protection – the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

«The psychologists of the SESU often provided the emergency psychological support to affected population, assisted to understand the most difficult psychologically stressful conditions during the emergency response. In addition, our experts are providing the monitoring of the emotional state of victims, trying to reduce or neutralize the intensity of expression of negative reactions, providing the psychological and informative support. Compared to classical algorithms of providing of psychological support in case of addressing to a psychologist, the psychologists of the SESU work preventively and provide support even if the victim says that there is no need in help» – said Sychevskyi.

In general, during conference the participants presented innovative, evidence-based solution of existing problems of violence and conflicts in Ukraine, Europe and worldwide.
