On May 6, the final training session for the third group of SES specialists on working with social networks during firefighting and emergencies took place. The online seminar was attended by heads of departments responsible for working with the media and public relations, as well as deputy heads of the Main Departments of the SES for emergency response.
The event was called "Social Networks ... Think Before You Write" and was conducted by experts from the US Forest Service. For convenience and better perception of information, the participants of the online seminar were divided into 3 groups.
On April 22 and 29, as well as on May 6, American colleagues shared their practices and experience with Ukrainian experts in communicating with the media, creating an information message about the event, and had the opportunity to hear SES specialists. On the examples of resonant events that took place in Ukraine - forest fires in the Exclusion Zone, Zhytomyr and Luhansk oblasts, fires in the Odessa College of Economics, Law and Hotel and Restaurant Business, an explosion in an apartment building on the street Solomiya Krushelnytska in Kyiv, representatives of the State Emergency Service spoke about the organization of communication with the media and the public during the liquidation of these emergencies.
Attendees also had the opportunity to read presentations and discuss issues that arose during the session, in particular, countering misinformation and creating a communication strategy.
