The decrease in temperature makes citizens to more actively use heating means to heat their homes: electric heaters, stoves, gas appliances and more. At the same time, in the autumn-winter period, the statistics of fires in the housing sector increases many times, which is often caused by people ignoring the rules of fire safety. The consequences of such negligence can be very tragic.

In the last 24 hours alone, there 94 fires took place in the residential sector!

To remind citizens of the need to comply with fire safety requirements during the operation of heating appliances, emergency workers carry out preventive raids in the residential sector.

So, in Donetsk region, on November 17, Mariupol rescuers talked to people and told them about the main causes of fires that have occurred in the city since the beginning of 2020. Rescuers reminded citizens of fire safety measures that must be observed to protect themselves, their loved ones and their homes from fire. To better understand the information, the SES specialists provided the participants with leaflets with fire safety rules and emergency telephone numbers.

On the same day, firefighters from the Volyn region conducted preventive talks among residents of the village of Konyshche, Ratnivskyi district. Rescuers outlined to citizens the typical risk factors for the autumn-winter period that lead to fires in the residential sector. They urged villagers not to neglect the rules of fire safety while handling fires, to monitor the serviceability of electrical appliances and the condition of electrical networks, not to allow smoking in residential areas. To get acquainted with the safety measures in more detail, rescuers handed out leaflets on fire safety to citizens.

At the same time, in Ivano-Frankivsk region, rescuers carried out informational and explanatory work with the residents of Kolomyia. Firefighters talked to citizens and reminded them of fire safety rules when using household appliances, gas appliances, open fire and stove heating. Emphasis was placed on the fact that it is forbidden to use faulty electrical appliances and leave them on unattended.

Similar preventive measures were taken by employees of the Rescue Service in Dnipro with residents of the Novokodatsky district. Firefighters urged citizens to be careful in handling open fires and told people the statistics of fires and the reasons that most often led to them. Rescuers paid special attention to the safety of children, reminding parents that it is impossible to leave a child at home unattended and by their own example should teach them safe behavior.

Dear citizens, be careful when heating your homes. To save your own life and the lives of those close to you, remember:

In case of fire, smoke, gassiness, collapse of structures of buildings and structures, explosions of technological equipment and devices - call the Rescue Service at "101"!
