Taking care of children's safety, teaching them to behave properly in extreme situations is an urgent task for all adults, because children are the future of the nation. It is very unfortunate that the irresponsibility and inadequate attention of parents to teaching their children the rules of safe living lead to very tragic consequences.
Rescuers are making every effort to prevent emergencies involving children, so they carry out active outreach work among the younger generation throughout the country.
During the past week, emergency workers visited educational institutions and explained to children and adolescents the rules of safe living, as well as conducted fire drills for teachers.
So, for example, firefighters of the Ivano-Frankivsk region on October 22 within the limits of carrying out of week of Safety of vital activity visited pupils of the Snyatyn lyceum "Intellect". The children were told about the rules of fire safety in the home and how to act in case of detection of explosives, emergencies and fires. In turn, Dolyna emergency workers together with police officers conducted "safety lessons" at Dolyna Lyceum №1. SES specialists talked to schoolchildren and told them how to behave in order not to become a participant in an emergency. They also reminded the children of the rules of safe behavior and stressed the importance of their observance, told about the causes of fires in the housing sector, their consequences, as well as how to behave in case of their occurrence.
At the same time, in the Luhansk region, Novopskovsk firefighters conducted training sessions on fire safety rules among employees of the Novopskovsk secondary school. Rescuers reminded teachers and technical staff of the priority actions in case of fire and conducted practical classes on the use of primary fire extinguishers. Emergency workers demonstrated to the audience how to activate the fire extinguisher and how to use it properly for effective extinguishing. Then everyone had the opportunity to try to put out the fire on their own. Thus, the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills will be the key to the safety of educators and students.
And in the Volyn region on October 20 rescuers carried out tactical and special trainings in Lyubeshivsky lyceum. According to the tactical plan of the firefighting exercises at the facilities with a large number of people, the fire broke out in the assembly hall of the lyceum on the ground floor and spread over a large area. The duty officer of the facility carried out a conditional evacuation of people and called "101". Emergency workers from the village of Lyubeshova arrived at the scene promptly. First of all, rescuers conducted a detailed investigation on all floors of the building, localized and promptly eliminated the fire. The trainings were aimed at practicing the evacuation of a large number of people, improving firefighting skills at crowded facilities and interaction between emergency services. And the staff of the lyceum learned the priority actions in case of fires.
Specialists of the Rescue Service "101" are constantly involved in teaching the younger generation the rules of fire and man-made safety. At the same time, rescuers urge adults to take care of the well-being of their children and instill in them from an early age a responsible attitude to handling fire, near water bodies, in case of discovery of unknown objects, etc.
