On August 19, at dawn, a cargo of medicines and flour flew to Beirut. Ukraine transfers humanitarian aid to Lebanon in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky 14 August, 2020 №319 and the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 17 August, 2020 №1009-r. For this, 8,400,000 hryvnias were allocated from the reserve fund of the State Budget.
Among the medicines, that the Ukrainian side transfers to the affected population of Lebanon, are antihemorrhagic and antithrombotic drugs, general anesthetics, bandages, surgical plaster, etc. - in total 23 kinds of medicines and products of medical purpose and 800 kg of flour.
The cargo with a total weight of 4.75 tons is accompanied by employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Let us recall, that as a result of the explosion in the port of the Lebanese capital, which occurred on August 4, according to operational data, more than 200 persons were killed and more than 6,000 were injured. Beirut has been declared a natural disaster zone.
