During the recent 24hrs, as preventive measures, minimization of other emergency consequences, fire-fighting and cleaning areas from the old munitions, 1077 interventions have been made by the emergency response units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

As the result of the undertaken measures there were 15 persons rescued, 59 buildings and 11 vehicles saved.

Harsh weather conditions in some oblasts of Ukraine

On the night of June 16h-17th, due to harsh weather conditions (squally wind, rain, thunder) and because of automatic electricity protection systems, there were 107 towns in 3 oblasts left without electricity supply, namely: Lvivska – 67 towns, Zakarpatska – 38 towns, Luganska oblast – 2 towns.

Local electricity supply teams have been engaged to repair works.

Luganska oblast

On June 16, in Svatove town due to the complication of weather conditions (squalid wind), the roof in the school number 8 on the area of 1 500 m2 and 10 windows was damaged, and the roofs were partially damaged in 14 residential buildings. There are no injuries due to bad weather.

Local electricity supply teams have been engaged to repair works.

Flooding in Kherson Oblast of Ukraine

On June 13, heavy rains resulted in flooding of 252 households including 69 living houses in the village of Nova Maiachka of Oleshky district.

As of 07.00hrs of June 17, 212 households including 24 living houses are still flooded. The water level gradually drops down.

There were 42 persons and 15 vehicles including 27 persons and 10 vehicles from the SES of Ukraine engaged in water pumping operation. During the day 11 100 cubic meters (overall since the beginning of works – 78 600 cubic meters) of water were pumped out.

Were installed a temporary metal pipe line (diameter 150mm) to ensure removal of the pumped water out from village.

Levels of Radiation in the City of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast

The radiation levels are stable. They do not exceed the norms in the ground and in the water.
