Operative Information as of June 23, 2020

During the recent 24hrs, as preventive measures, minimization of other emergency consequences, fire-fighting and cleaning areas from the old munitions, 1706 interventions have been made by the emergency response units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

As the result of the undertaken measures there were 2 persons rescued, 48 buildings and 3 vehicles saved.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine

According to information from the Ministry of health of Ukraine, as of 10.00hrs June 23, the total number of COVID-19 cases registered in Ukraine is 38074 and 1035 persons died, namely: Kyiv city – 4429 (101 persons died), Lviv oblast – 4220 (117 persons died), Chernivtsi oblast – 4419 (176 persons died), Rivne oblast – 3038 (58 persons died), Zakarpattia oblast – 2291 (61 persons died),Kyiv oblast – 2285 (47 persons died), Ivano-Frankivsk oblast – 2091 (97 persons died), Volyn oblast – 1894 (54 persons died), Kharkiv oblast – 1844 (69 persons died), Ternopil oblast – 1744 (27 persons died), Vinnytsia oblast – 1690 (28 persons died), Odesa oblast – 1333 (21 persons died), Zhytomyr oblast – 1295 (24 persons died), Dnipropetrovsk oblast – 1049 (23 persons died), Kirovohrad oblast – 631 (31 persons died), Khmelnytskyi oblast – 622 (15 persons died), Cherkasy oblast – 605 (21 persons died), Zaporizhia oblast – 555 (17 persons died), Chernihiv oblast – 485 (10 persons died), Donetsk oblast – 368 (8 persons died), Mykolaiv Oblast – 366 (9 persons died), Poltava oblast – 296 (13 persons died), Sumy oblast – 263 (5 persons died), Kherson oblast – 188 (3 persons died), and Luhansk oblast – 73.

 

16956 persons were discharged after treatment (Chernivtsi oblast – 1642, Rivne oblast – 1538, Kyiv city – 1415, Kyiv oblast – 1141, Ternopil oblast – 1079, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast – 1071, Vinnytsia oblast – 1037, Kharkiv oblast – 889, Zakarpattia oblast – 845, Dnipropetrovsk oblast – 780, Lviv oblast – 696, Zhytomyr oblast – 663, Odesa oblast – 562, Volyn oblast – 550, Kirovohrad oblast – 521, Khmelnytskyi oblast – 493, Cherkasy oblast – 408, Zaporizhia oblast – 393, Mykolaiv oblast – 269, Poltava oblast – 263, Sumy oblast – 184, Kherson oblast – 175, Donetsk oblast – 145, Chernihiv oblast – 144, and Luhansk oblast – 53).

Harsh Weather Conditions in Some Oblasts of Ukraine

As of 07.00hrs. June 23, as a result of harsh weather conditions (rain and wind gusts) and because of automatic electricity protection systems, there are 209 towns in 7 oblasts left without electricity supply, namely: Zhytomyr oblast – 72 towns, Kyiv oblast – 52, Chernihiv oblast – 29, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast – 29, Cherkasy oblast – 19, Chernivtsi oblast – 5 and Kirovohrad oblast – 3 towns. Local electricity supply repair teams have been engaged to restoring works.

On June 22-23, in the territory of 8 oblasts (Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Lviv, Odesa and Rivne) harsh weather conditions (rain and wind gusts) there was a fall of 26 trees, flooding 174 basements, 3 outbuildings, 23 basements, 141 households, 31 private plots, 2 streets, 1 highway with the connection "Greenyava-Goloshina" (length 100 m and height 40 cm), 5 hectares of agricultural land, roofs of 2 schools, 2 buildings and 2 houses were damaged. There were 4 landslides (1 outbuilding was destroyed and 26 vehicles were blocked, as of 22:00 the driveway was restored). Two pedestrian bridges were destroyed. There was a gust of the dam № 5 on the Cheremosh River (10 m long) and the retaining wall of the concrete shore fortification of the regional road R-62 “Chernivtsi-Verkhovyna” was washed away (50 m long, access provided). There were neither victims nor injured reported. 4940 m3 of water were pumped out by SES units. 527 persons and 137 vehicles were engaged from SESU to extinguishing fire, among them 439 persons and 6 vehicles from SESU.

Kyiv city

On June 21 at about 10.00hrs. there was an explosion of a pre-gas-air mixture without subsequent combustion, as a result of which 5 people died and 5 people were injured in Darnytskyi district on the Solomiya Krushelnytska street, 1/5 in a ten-storey residential building. The blast destroyed the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth floors. SES units evacuated 23 persons and rescued 3 people.
An emergency response Operational team  and a mobile SES task force are working on site. As of 7.00hrs. June 23, 223 persons and 44 vehicles were engaged in search and rescue operations, including 103 persons and 21 vehicles, including 1 canine calculation from the SES.

Fires in Ecosystems

Kyiv Oblast

On June 21 the SES received information about the fire of grass in the Exclusion zone and unconditional (mandatory) resettlement, near Illinci village of Lubyany forestry. At 20.40hrs. the fire were localized on the area 3 hectares. As of 07.00hrs June 23, there are observing some sporadic smoldering fires in the peat lands in the burnt out areas. 6 persons and 2 vehicles, from the forestry have been engaged.

Levels of Radiation in the City of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast
