Operative Information as of June 22, 2020

During the recent 24hrs, as preventive measures, minimization of other emergency consequences, fire-fighting and cleaning areas from the old munitions, 947 interventions have been made by the emergency response units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

As the result of the undertaken measures there were 20 persons rescued, 69 buildings and 3 vehicles saved.

An explosion previously of gas-air mixture without further burning took place in a ten-storey residential building Solomiya Krushelnytska, 1/5 street of Darnytsya district at 1000hrs. June 21. As a result of explosion 3 persons died and 5 people were injured. The blast destroyed the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth floors. SES units evacuated 23 persons and 3 rescued.

An emergency response staff and a mobile operational group work on the site.

As of 0700hrs. June 22, 460 people and 70 vehicles are involved in search and rescue operations, including 170 personnel and 30 vehicles from the SES, among them1 canine calculation.

 

Harsh Weather Conditions in Some Oblasts of Ukraine

As of 0700hrs. June 22, as a result of harsh weather conditions (rain and wind gusts) and because of automatic electricity protection systems, there are 112 towns in 5 oblasts left without electricity supply, namely: Zhytomyr oblast – 47 towns, Rivne oblast – 24 towns, Volyn oblast – 17, Khmelnytskyi oblast – 15 towns and Kirovohrad oblast – 9 towns. Local electricity supply repair teams have been engaged to restoring works.

On June 21 in the territory of 3 Oblasts (Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad and Chernivtsi) harsh weather conditions (rain and wind gusts) there was a fall of 37 trees, flooding 3 basements, 2 households, the roof of a residential building was damaged. There were no victims no injured reported. SES units pumped out 60 m3 of water. From the SES were engaged 35 personnel and 9 vehicles.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine

16642 persons were discharged after treatment (Chernivtsi oblast – 1574, Rivne oblast – 1526, Kyiv city – 1391, Kyiv oblast – 1100, Ternopil oblast – 1073, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast – 1071, Vinnytsia oblast – 1014, Kharkiv oblast – 872, Zakarpattia oblast – 842, Dnipropetrovsk oblast – 776, Lviv oblast – 674, Zhytomyr oblast – 633, Odesa oblast – 551, Volyn oblast – 548, Kirovohrad oblast – 508, Khmelnytskyi oblast – 492, Cherkasy oblast – 393, Zaporizhia oblast – 391, Mykolaiv oblast – 265, Poltava oblast – 262, Sumy oblast – 182, Kherson oblast – 175, Donetsk oblast – 145, Chernihiv oblast – 131, and Luhansk oblast – 53).

Fires in Ecosystems

Kyiv Oblast

On June 21 the SES received information about the fire of grass in the Exclusion zone and unconditional (mandatory) resettlement, near Illinci village of Lubyany forestry. At 2040hrs. the fire were localized on the area 3 hectares. As of 07.00hrs June 22, there are observing some sporadic smoldering fires in the peat lands in the burnt out areas. 11 persons and 3 vehicles, from the forestry have been engaged.

Levels of Radiation in the City of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast
