On November 7, a delegation of the International Fire Relief Mission (IFRM), headed by its President Brian Abbott, came to Kherson rescuers. The mission works to help the firefighters with equipment, as well as conducting special trainings and trainings for firefighters. In the spring, representatives of the mission were already in the Kherson Oblast for the purpose of establishing cooperation. Then the Americans get acquainted in detail with the material and technical equipment of the fire departments, in particular, the 21st State Fire and Rescue Unit for the protection of the Oleshkiv District. The mission has now brought humanitarian aid in the form of sets of combat clothing and compressed air vehicles for the 21st SFRU.
So, the instructors conducted practical training sessions with Oleshkiv rescuers on the peculiarities of work in imported equipment and combat clothing, as well as took part in tactical exercises near the village of Nechaeve on the theme: "extinguishing of fires in ecosystems". They clearly saw the specifics of the extinguishing of fires in the forest, as it is carried out in the Kherson Oblast and shared the algorithm of American firefighters to eliminate such fires. The American instructors were happy with the actions of Kherson rescuers.
Taking into account the necessity to establish local fire brigade in the Kherson Oblast, within the framework of the visit of the delegation, a meeting was held with the heads of the united territorial communities on the exchange of experience with IFRM experts in the field of fire protection of UTC.
The delegation will work in the Oblast for three days in order to further study the needs of other fire and rescue units. As the mission president noted, they hope for further cooperation with the city of Kherson and the Oblast.
