On July 12 in Chernivtsi, a meeting of representatives Deapartment of the SES of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region with representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine took place. The main goal of the event was to establish rescue workers' cooperation with observers who will monitor security in the region after the next rotation of the OSCE mission.
During the meeting, the representatives of the Deapartment of the SES of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region familiarized with the activities of the Rescue Service in Chernivtsi region. Deputy secretary of the observer group, Alison Stebss and observer Valery Gergov, talked about the technical equipment and the readiness of the fire and rescue units to carry out the assignments in case of a variety of emergency situations specific to Bukovina about the work of local fire brigades. In addition, the attendees gave a more detailed discussion on the course of liquidation of the recent emergency situation in the region due to the complicated weather conditions during June 28-30. Representatives of the Deapartment of the SES of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region also noted their work in the field of cross-border cooperation.
Finally, the OSCE observers expressed their hope for another meeting soon with the representatives of the Deapartmennts of the SESU, Police and the Security Service of Ukraine to discuss security issues in the region in a four-sided format.
