On May 11, a working meeting of the Head of the SES of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin with the Director of the International International Trust Fund enhancing human security in the Mine Action Tomaž Lovrenčič and the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Ukraine ,Ms. Petra Zupančič, took place.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issue of finding ways to continue and deepen bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the SESU and the International Trust Fund of the Republic of Slovenia.

So, Mykola Chechotkin informed foreign guests about the intentions and expectations of the Service. He recalled that cooperation between the SESU and Slovenia began immediately after Russian aggression, and in February 2015, an appropriate Memorandum was signed.

"I consider the visit of the President of the Republic of Slovenia to be a support of Ukraine in this war with terrorists. From 2014, our country pays a high price: more than 20 thousand dead Ukrainians, about 2 million internally displaced persons and over 100 thousand hectares of contaminated with explosive objects of the territory ", - said Mykola Chechotkin.

In turn,  Tomaž Lovrenčič noted that the Foundation's activities are fully supported by the President of Slovenia. In particular, he gave the authority in order to continue working with the SESU.

"We have the political will and the great experience of helping countries that need it. We strive to provide maximum assistance to your Service in order to solve all problems in the field of humanitarian demining", assured Mr. Lovrenčič .

Separately, the parties discussed the issue of informing the population in the occupied territories about the mine danger and legislative steps to ensure donor assistance to Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, Mykola Chechotkin thanked the Slovenian delegation for the visit and expressed his hope for further fruitful cooperation.
