Every day civilian population suffers from the conflict in the east of the country. International organizations are doing their utmost to help Ukrainian citizens.
On May 7, the UN delegation and representatives of the Kingdom of Denmark visited the 12th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Kramatorsk Town in order to discuss the issues on providing the assistance to population in the conflict zone.
The event was attended by the employees of the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Donetsk oblast, CIMIC and the representatives of the judicial system of the region. Thanks to the support of representatives of the United Nations it became possible to introduce the videoconferencing systems in the subordinate units of the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Donetsk oblast. It was rather difficult to keep a high-quality operational connection between the departments because of the considerable distance of the settlements in the region. Today, such connection has already been established, which makes it possible to resolve operational issues more quickly. The participants of the event had an opportunity to verify the effectiveness of such connection. Also, guests got acquainted with the work of the Rescue Service, told about the issues and difficulties that arise in their daily activities.
The participants of the event discussed the problematic issues faced by residents of Donetsk oblast, in particular, in legal terms. Moreover, the attendees listed the most urgent security problems of the civilian population in the conflict zone. The representatives of the United Nations have expressed their enthusiasm for the specialists of Rescue Service who, in any circumstances, are ready to help citizens.
