Rescuers of Rivne oblast received modern emergency-rescue equipment within the framework of implementation of “Polish Aid” Program

On February 12, a summing-up of the first module of the project “Support of the process of organization of Ukrainian rescue volunteer organization in order to increase the level of safety of the local population in Rivne oblast” took place on the base of special purpose emergency-rescue unit of the Department of the SES of Ukraine in Rivne oblast within the framework of implementation “Polish Aid” Program.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Jan Pieklo, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk City Wiesław Mazur, Project Coordinator, member of the Presidium of the Association of Voluntary Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland Marek Kowalski, Head of the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Rivne oblast Serhii Kruk, Deputy Head of Rivne Regional State Administration Vitalii Undir, Mayor of Rivne City Volodymyr Khomko, Head of Rivne District State Administration Volodymyr Pylypchuk, as well as the representatives of united territorial communities took part in the event.

On this day, the rescuers of Rivne oblast received new modern emergency rescue equipment from their Polish colleagues. In particular: motor-pumps floating NIAGARA, light posts, fire fighting simulator EGERIA, as well as children's races with obstacles for training in fire-applied sport.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Jan Pieklo welcomed the participants and noted that the cooperation of Ukrainian and Polish fire fighters in protecting the population and territories from various kinds of dangers is another step towards strengthening and consolidating of friendly relations between the two fraternal countries.

At the same time, the Project Coordinator Marek Kowalski underlined on positive results of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation. “36 professional volunteer firefighters were selected and prepared under the Project and absolutely competent and efficient volunteer fire brigades were created on the territories of three united territorial communities of Rivne oblast,” – he noted.

In turn, Deputy Head of Rivne Regional State Administration Vitalii Undir expressed gratitude to Polish guests and rescuers of the SESU for solid and effective steps in safety and security of the inhabitants of Rivne oblast.

At the end of the event all participants accompanied by the Main Rescuer of the oblast Serhii Kruk inspected new equipment.
